How we can help you grow
Neurofeedback has shown to be a very effective tool to improve Attention Deficit disorders. By giving the brain information on its function, the brain will naturally begin to regulate itself in a more efficient way. Every brain is different but every brain can benefit from brain wave training.
Unlike medication, Neurofeedback Therapy addresses the root cause of the disorder instead of simply treating the symptom.
Neurofeedback therapy is categorized by the American Academy of Pediatrics as a level 1 Intervention.
ADD/ADHD and Brainwaves
The goal of all neurofeedback is to transform an unhealthy, abnormal brainwave pattern into a normal, healthy, organized pattern. By doing this, the brain becomes more stable and is able to operate optimally and efficiently.
During normal daily activities such as balancing our checkbooks or following directions in class, certain areas of our brain will need to be active and using the faster frequency called Beta. On the other hand, if after a long day we wish to relax and wind down, a different part of the brain will need to be activated using the slower brainwave frequency called Alpha. The goal of Neurofeedback is to improve the brain’s ability to self-regulate, maintain flexibility, and smoothly shift between states of relaxation and arousal. Since the Brain also controls Attention Regulation, Emotional Regulation and Affect Regulation, this ultimately allows the entire Central Nervous System to resume normal functioning.
American Academy of Pediatrics names Neurofeedback as a level 1
